Moorland mud behaves differently to ordinary household dirt. It is finer and drier once feet press it into the carpet. Instead of sitting on the surface, it settles deep into the pile. That is exactly why a standard vacuum never quite gets on top of it.

I used my Prochem Steempro Power Plus with the Magma in-line heater in every room. The hot water extraction lifted soiling that had built up over a busy walking season. In the end, the carpets came back to an even, consistent colour throughout. Drying times stayed short, so each room was soon ready for guests again.
