Honiton’s business mix is mostly small and medium firms, professional offices and shared spaces where staff, clients and deliveries all cross the same carpet every day. It’s that constant footfall, more than any single stain, that’s the real problem – it creates dark traffic lanes along the busiest routes that only really stand out once you look at the carpet as a whole.

On an office job in Honiton I generally work in two stages: an alkaline pre-treatment on the worst traffic lanes first, then a full extraction pass across the whole floor with the Steempro Power Plus and Magma in-line heater. That evens out the colour, even where the contrast between clean and worn areas is quite stark to start with.

I know a business can’t afford days of closure for carpet cleaning, so I always plan the visit for quieter periods – weekends included if that’s what works – so the space is ready to go by the next working day.
