A countryside pub around Chard has its own rhythm – Sunday lunches, quiz nights, walking
groups arriving with muddy boots straight off the Somerset footpaths. That’s a different kind of wear to an office, and the carpet shows it: beer marks near the bar, dried mud around the
entrance, a general greasiness building up close to the kitchen pass.
I’ve learned not to treat the whole floor the same way in venues like this. Around the bar and
doorways I use a stronger pre-spray, left to work before extraction, because that’s where sugar and alcohol residue has usually had time to bind into the fibres. Quieter areas just need a standard pass with the Prochem Steempro Power Plus and the Magma heater.
Most of these jobs get booked during closing hours or a quiet afternoon, so the pub is dry and ready before the next service. A business can’t really afford to lose a trading day for carpet cleaning, and I plan around that every time.
